NBA Playoffs: Where Compelling First Round Matchups Happen

Finally, the crazy NBA regular season has come to a close. It only took every single one for the 82 game season to figure out the playoff seedings in the Western Conference. And, despite all logic, an Eastern Conference playoff was also scheduled (Go Hawks?). Anyway, here's a quick glace at the matchups. A more indepth look at each one will be following soon.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

#1 Los Angeles Lakers (57-25)
#8 Denver Nuggest (50-32)

#4 Utah Jazz (54-28)
#5 Houston Rockets (55-27)*

#3 San Antonio Spurs (56-26)
#6 Phoenix Suns (55-27)

#2 New Orleans Hornets (56-26)
#7 Dallas Mavericks (51-31)

EASTERN CONFERENCE

#1 Boston Celtics (66-16)
#8 Atlanta Hawks (37-45)

#4 Cleveland Caveliers (45-37)
#5 Washington Wizards (43-39)

#3 Orlando Magic (52-30)
#6 Toronto Raptors (41-41)

#2 Detroit Pistons (59-23)
#7 Philadelphi 76ers (40-42)

*Houston has home court advantage due to having a better record than the Jazz. But since Utah won the Northwest Division, the lowest seed they can be is #4.
